Review of Management (with InfoTrac Printed Access Card) (Hardcover)

In my opinion this is one of the best text books on management I read. I am using it extensively with undergraduate students for whom the English is a foreign language, and still they do not encounter any difficulties, either in understanding the text or the cases.

Review of Managerial Economics: A Problem-Solving Approach (Mba Series) (Hardcover)

This book is designed for decision makers and not for academics. Each chapter provides a situation a goes through the logic of what one should do.It is also a very easy read for those who hate the standard textbook.

Review of Fundamentals of Financial Management, Concise Edition (with Thomson ONE - Business School Edition) (Hardcover)

This text book is an excellent resource for understanding Financial Management. It was a required text in my MBA program and the book is easy to go through on your own. There are exercises, or self tests, at the end of each section in the chapters, as well as many types of problems and self test questions at the end of the chapters.

We had a mediocre teacher in my MBA program, so going through the text was imperative. The authors do a great job breaking down concepts and some of the examples at end of chapter sections have the answers.

I comes with a supplemental booklet to further help undertand the "Time Value of Money" which, according to the authors, is a difficult concept.

One big plus for this text is that it shows you how to figure out the problems using formulas, using financial caluclators, and using an Excel spreadsheet.

I highly recommend doing the examples and problems in the book, and ordering the study guide. The study guide has additional examples and problems to work through and is the perfect supplement.

This is one text I am going to keep!

Review of Strategic Management: An Integrated Approach [STUDENT EDITION] (Hardcover)

This book is a great start for anyone going into business. It covers everything from internal issues to external issues and covers theory of adjusting to those issues. It is a slow read.I equate it to a kid eating peas; it is not the most pleasurable thing out there, but you are so much better off consuming it.I would definately recommend it to a friend.

Review of Financial Management: Theory & Practice (with Thomson ONE - Business School Edition 1-Year Printed Access Card) (Hardcover)

I had to purchase this book for my MBA Fin Mgmt I class last semester.I actually purchased it from the bookstore.I didn't have a finance background. I really liked the way the authors made the subject easy to understand and comprehend. It gives you plenty of examples. The answers and calculations are given for the self-test questions. This class was taken all online. When I initially had taken this class on campus, I had to drop it because I wasn't understanding the concepts. After taking an Accounting course, I felt I was better preprared for this course a second time around. This book is written for the novice and advanced student.

Review of Introduction to Business Statistics (with Student CD-ROM) (Hardcover)

The college I teach in replaced this book with another, widely accepted book with a simiar name. This was two years ago, and yet the instructors still keep this book to use for examples, and we would like it back as the book of choice. It stands head and shoulders above most of the competition.
My students are mainly business majors, not mathematicians, and this book is 100% suited to this type of application. The examples are 'real world' that actually explain where a particular concept or distribution may be used. In essence-this book covers everything you'll need and then some...

If I DO have a couple of 'moans' about the book, it gets a bit too 'in depth' in some areas, way more than the average business student would ever need, and also the CD, which is a bit of a waste of time, dealing with data files for Excel and Minitab. There are no 'REAL' learning tools.

I heartily recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn the subject at their own pace. It's expensive, and the prior versions contain about the same stuff, just in a cheaper package. There have been no real 'breakthroughs' in Stats in the last few decades, so the subject matter is pretty much unchanged. As the adage goes "You pays yer money and takes yer choice"- a few 'dog-eared' pages won't kill you!

Review of Fraud Examination (with ACL CD-ROM) (Hardcover)

This book is a very thorough and well-written introduction to the field of fraud examination. Authors' lucid and easy-to-read style with plenty of fraud story examplesis helpful to digest complex concepts such as financial statement frauds and e-commerce frauds. Chapter sizes are carefully kept small. Quizzes and case studies are also well-thought out.

Some reviews on Amazon don't do this book a justice. Overall a comprehensive text book in the area of Fraud examination. For curious and interested in this field, I also recommend Financial Shenanigans: How to Detect Accounting Gimmicks & Fraud in Financial Reports, Second Edition.

Review of Personal Financial Planning (Hardcover)

there are a few positives and a few negatives, as im sure you are purchasing this for coursework, you already know that it is over prices as all textbooks and poorly formatted for reference. pay attention to the appendices, they will be important the whole way.
